Pediatric and Teen Dental Care
A pediatric dentist has the additional specialty training beyond dental school that focuses on the management and treatment of a child's physical growth and development, and behavior. The pediatric dentist, staff, and even the office décor are all designed to put parents and patients, at ease.
Since decay can occur as soon as teeth appear in the mouth, we recommend scheduling a exam for your child by 12 months of age. This gives Dr. Rob the opportunity to assess your child's growth and development, examine teeth for decay, and evaluate the mouth for any injuries or other issues
Some parents delay scheduling their child’s first visit because of fear or anxiety. Dr. Rob and his team work with you to make this and future visits as comfortable as possible.
Excellent oral health is our goal, so let's work together. We believe that all of us — the parents, the child, Dr. Rob, and our team — are all partners in care. We encourage excellent oral hygiene at home and routine hygiene visits in order to maintain healthy teeth. Remember, one of the best gifts a parent can give their child is long-term comprehensive dental care in a warm, friendly environment.
Sedation Dentistry
Some children are simply too young or too anxious to comfortably handle dental treatment. Sedation dentistry includes the use of nitrous oxide or conscious sedation for anxiety or behavior management.
The patient can tolerate sitting in the chair for a longer period of time, so that complex treatments and multiple procedures can be accomplished safely in a single visit.
